A fresh and aromatic fragrance entirely dedicated to the theme of Series 03 – “Back to the roots”. As the only note in Molecule 03, Vetiveryl Acetate exudes its long-lasting balsamic and woody notes, with a slight freshness.
The theme of Series 03 is “Back to the roots” – back to the roots. The aroma used this time is vetiveryl acetate, the synthetically produced counterpart of the natural sweet grass (vetiver). The fragrance exudes intense, balsamic, long-lasting balsamic-woody notes with a light freshness. “Molecule 03 is made of vetiveryl acetate, pure and unique.
Vetiveryl acetate could be described as a hybrid molecule, half natural, half synthetic. It is a fraction of vetiver oil distilled from the roots of an Indian grass, which is then “crossed” with acetic acid to remove the bitter and leathery aspects of the root.
The result is an elegant and refined molecule with the woody, slightly grassy character of vetiver, but much smoother and softer. “Acetylation also brings out the grapefruit touch in the vetiver,” says Geza Schoen, “resulting in a more pronounced bitter-fresh top note.””
