Sensual and warm – Anvers 2 combines a masculine note in the form of light woods, musk and amber with flowers such as mimosa and rose. A contradictory concept that worked successfully for its predecessor, Anvers. The opening is a firework of tangy citrus accords caressed by black pepper, rhubarb and cypress. The sensual heart note combines floral and woody notes. The base of tonka bean, vanilla, amber, musk, incense and oakmoss provides an inviting warmth.
Origin story
The inspiration for Anvers 2 came from a picture of Belgian art dealer Roger Szmulewicz – the face of Anvers – showing Szmulewicz in the middle of the forest in an elegant coat and sneakers.
Ulrich Lang loved the image, which he describes as “casual, soft and woody,” so much that he designed a fragrance to match: the provocative, floral-oriental Anvers 2.
Anvers 2 was photographed by Katy Grannan. Grannan’s paintings are on display at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among others.
